About past work Architecture, Design Build, Land Planning, & Interiors
Len King began his practice of architecture in 1972 after acquiring a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Penn State. On finishing the required three years of internship he took and passed the architectural licensing exams while on a job location in Washington State. Len has since acquired additional licenses and has practiced in New York State and North Carolina. North Carolina is the location of his present active registration although he has been qualified by the NCARB for "reciprocity" to practice through out the majority of the U.S. While in the New York City region Mr. King worked as senior associate and lead architect for several outstanding firms, as well as receiving a Masters degree in Urban Design from Columbia University. On relocation to North Carolina Len opened a small design build business focused on single family homes and hospitality work in addition to conventional projects. As a result of this combination of events his portfolio demonstrates a wide range of commissions, from small interiors to large million- plus square foot urban designs. Mr. King also has experience in many forms of construction used in various commercial, institutional, and higher density work. Furthermore while the design- build of single family houses has occurred over the last 15 years, mixed use land planning predominates over the last two.
This range of design, building, and planning ensures a comprehensive consideration of all aspects and a superior end product. By holding a NCARB certificate (National Council of Architectural Registration Boards) projects can be delivered in almost the entire United States. And last, any client, patron or employer can be assured of elegant solutions to problems with a cost benefit approach as a constant.
